Ogunquit Playhouse Blockbuster-Feel-Good Season Continues with Sally Struthers Starring in All Shook Up!

For Immediate Release:
September 10, 2009

Elvis Presley’s hits roar to life on the Ogunquit Playhouse stage in the new Broadway musical comedy All Shook Up starring Sally Struthers as the stick-in-the mud Mayor Matilda who has outlawed fun her small mid-western town. This mad-cap musical comedy based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, playing September 16 through October 11, overflows with rock ‘n roll, gospel, romance and mistaken identities. All Shook tells the story of a small town girl with big dreams and the motorcycle-riding roustabout she falls for. Among the many hits that will have you jumping out of your blue suede shoes are, “Love Me Tender,” “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Hound Dog,” and “It’s Now or Never.” All Shook Up is guaranteed to knock your socks off!

Sally Struthers, a favorite among Ogunquit audiences, stars as the small-town Mayor who is determined to foil the fun of the local teens. She is known for her comedic roles and is a highly acclaimed actress of stage, television and screen, winning two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for her performances in television’s groundbreaking series All in the Family. She starred in the Fox television series 9 to 5, her own CBS series Gloria and had recurring roles in the CBS comedy Still Standing and the CW’s highly acclaimed Gilmore Girls.

Joining the cast are Broadway veteran’s Cady Huffman (Miss Sandra) and Jennifer Cody (Natalie). Cady Hoffman wowed audiences and critics alike with her performance as the Swedish Bombshell “Ulla” in the Broadway smash hit The Producers for which she won the Tony®, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Nighttime television audiences remember her as Larry’s “anniversary present” on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” while day-timers rooted for her as Dr. Paige Miller on “One Life to Live.” Jen Cody was last seen at the Ogunquit Playhouse as Joy, the “off” stepsister in Cinderella.  On Broadway, Jen has been in Shrek the Musical, Pajama Game, Urinetown, Best Little Whorehouse, Taboo, Seussical the Musical, Beauty and the Beast, Grease, and Cats.  Todd Dubail plays Chad, the rockin’ rollin’ roustabout who stirs up trouble in the sleepy town run by mayor Sally Struthers. Todd previously performed at the Ogunquit Playhouse in the 2000 production of Grease (Danny Zuko) and The Full Monty (Keno) in 2007.  Todd has performed in numerous national tours including Joseph..., Grease (Danny with Frankie Avalon, Chubbie Checker & Fabian), Leader of the Pack and Jesus Christ Superstar.

Come get the answers to the following questions: Will true love prevail? Will the power of music win the day? Will this small town in the Midwest survive getting all shook up? The King lives at the Playhouse this fall – shake, rattle or roll your way to the show that can’t be missed!
