
Orson Bean
Orson Bean appeared at the Ogunquit Playhouse in 1961 when he starred alongside Julia Meade in Send Me No Flowers by Norman Barasch and Carroll Moore. As an actor, Bean made several appearances on the Broadway stage and in the Hollywood spotlight. He enjoyed his greatest personal success on Broadway in the 1961-62 season, in the Betty Comden and Adolph Green musical, Subways Are for Sleeping. Bean received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for this role. Bean was a talent on the stage, but his career was primarily spent in television appearing in over twenty television series including: “Twilight Zone” (1960), “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman” (1977-78), “Will & Grace” (2000) and he most recently appeared in “Desperate Housewives” as Roy Bender (2009-2011). Bean frequently appeared on television game shows, and he was a long time panelist on the television game show “To Tell the Truth.” Orson Bean now lives in Los Angeles with his wife, actress Alley Mills.
