This week-long camp introduces our youngest students to the theatre arts. The workshops bring the performing arts to life for youngsters new to theatre, combining fun and educational games with instruction, culminating in a live performance at the end of the week. Students learn basic staging, music and choreography with an emphasis on group performance in a supportive and nurturing atmosphere.
Students attend camp 9am-Noon Monday through Friday. A performance for families is held on the final day of camp (Friday) in the Chloe Checkoway Pavilion.
This Children's Theatre Camp, is designed for students age 9 to 15 regardless of skill or training level. The workshops identify, strengthen and enhance each student's performance skills, self-esteem and self-expression. Students receive vocal, movement and acting training while preparing to perform before a live audience. Each Junior Players camp results in a fully staged production on our main stage - often to sold out audiences!
Students attend camp Monday-Friday, 9:30am-3:30pm with two performances on Saturday and one on Sunday.
*Shrek, Jr. session is open to 11-17 year old campers.
