The Ogunquit Playhouse is celebrating it's 76th Anniversary in 2008; producing six musicals in the season. The Playhouse is a 688-seat proscenium house with Equity productions and a tradition of high production values. Located on the beautiful southern coast of Maine, Ogunquit is a great place to summer.

Assistant Master Electrician (Apprentice)

Mid-May to mid-October 2008 (some flexibility) 

Responsibilities: Assist Lighting Designer, participation of hang, focus, execution of five to seven lighting plots, pre-production work, show maintenance, lighting crew supervision, some rehearsals, deck electrics. Must be able to work under pressure. Experience with lighting rigs of 200 units, moving lights, repair skills, board operation, focusing, ETC Express. College experience or BFA in theatre/tech program required.

Assistant Box Office Manager
Ideal candidate will have a strong customer service background, be comfortable working in a fast paced office environment, possess strong computer and phone skills. 1 to 2 years previous experience in a supervisory role is necessary. Position is full time, salaried & seasonal, March through October.  Working hours are determined by event schedule and include nights and weekends in-season.

Company Manager

March through October 2008

Ogunquit Playhouse seeks a high energy Company Manager for its 2008 Season. Responsibilities include auditions, casting assistance with Artistic Director, coordination of travel, housing, and personnel needs throughout season. The successful candidate possesses excellent communication skills and experience in professional theatre. Familiarity with both New England and New York City, a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and being comfortable driving a 15-passenger van is necessary. Housing is available and salary competitive within standard industry practice.

Box Office Group Sales Associate

This position is seasonal:  April  13 Oct., 25-30 hours a week. 


Primary responsibility is to provide daily contact and support for group sales accounts, generate contracts and coordinate payment logistics. Position entails devoting time to generating new sales leads and strong communication with Sales Management.
The qualified candidate has a focus on excellent customer service, strong computer skills and is highly organized.

Master Electrician

May to mid-October 2008

Responsible for hanging, focus and execution of five to seven lighting plots; Pre-production work, light crew/overhire supervision, lighting equipment operation, repair, show maintenance, programming. Must be neat, efficient and accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment. Bachelors in Theatre or 2 years professional experience mounting lighting rigs of 200 units; Moving Light setup, troubleshooting (MAC 700s, Studio Colors,) programming (Hog, ETC Express, ETC Ion,) Paperwork (Lightwright, Excel) Vectorworks/CAD experience preferred.  Rigging, lifts, ladder work experience preferred.

Wardrobe Supervisor

May to mid-October 2008

Responsibilities: organizing quick-change/dressing crews for all shows, running shows; presetting dressing rooms, assisting actors into/out of costume/makeup; running costume changes, completing changeover, post-show duties; laundry; costume maintenance; ordering supplies; training interns, wardrobe crews. 

Candidates must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, work well in a high-energy environment and reports to the Costumer Supervisor.  A great attitude and ability to "handle" stars is required.  Day/ evening hours required.

Wig Master and Assistant

Mid-May to mid-October 2008 (some flexibility) 

Responsibilities: All rental hair goods coordination and supplies, maintenance of variety of period styles.  Will be required to run performances and attend dress rehearsals. Day/evening hours required. Design work may be available. 

Requirements:  Superior wig, hairstyling skills, ventilate lace front wigs, ability to “handle stars”. Stage makeup skills helpful.  Will run all shows, assist in daytime maintenance, prep for shows.   Must be able to work in high stress situations.

Costume Supervisor/Designer
Ogunquit Playhouse May – October 2008. 

This strategic position is responsible for overall management of costume, wardrobe and hair resources. Bachelors degree in Theatre and/or 2 years professional experience preferred, including: experience mounting lighting rigs of 200 units; Moving Light setup and troubleshooting (MAC 700s, Studio Colors,) & programming (Hog, ETC Express, ETC Ion,) Lighting Paperwork (Lightwright, Excel) Vectorworks/CAD experience preferred but not required.
