Master Electrician

Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, ME seeks a Master Electrician for its 2017 Season, April – November. Primary Responsibilities: Drafting five to seven lighting plots to fit the OPH stage space, Circuit, hang, focus, and perform full execution of lighting plots, Coordinate pre-production work with each individual department, Manage lighting equipment operations, Acquire and request desired rental equipment, Conduct the strategic planning, technical design, and overall construction of all set electrics and practical elements, Maintain and expand lighting inventory, Manage lighting budget, Prepare show documentation, Carry out show maintenance, Highly knowledgeable in network and console configuration/programming, Experience with Lightwright 5 and Vectorworks 2015 or newer, Crew supervision. Rigging, ladder work, and lift experience required. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with exceptional organization skills. Expertise in projection design and special effects (such as electromechanical and atmospheric effects) very helpful. Salary and housing included.

  • Pre-production work and planning with other production departments

Other Responsibilities:

  • Supervising a crew of three or more electricians
  • Equipment repair and maintenance
  • Show documentation and maintenance
  • Managing and reporting production lighting budget
  • Maintaining and expanding the lIghting Department's inventory and infrastructure

Required Skills:

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Efficiency in a fast paced environment
  • Repair and maintenance of both conventional and automated lighting equipment
  • Eos Family console configuration and programming
  • Lightwright 5 and Vectorworks 2015 or newer
  • Proficiency in the safe use of ladders, lifts, and fall arrest equipment
  • Experience with counterweight rigging systems and spotline rigging
  • Network configuration and management (physical networks as well as ETC Net3, sACN, ArtNet, and OSC)
