Master Stage Carpenter


Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks experienced Master Stage Carpenter for the 2018 season, April – November. This position will run all shows for a five-production main-stage season. Successful candidates will have extremely high-level carpentry skills and exceptional fast-paced problem-solving abilities, and demonstrate proficiency in the safe operation of power tools, scenic carpentry, theatrical rigging, and stage operations. Responsibilities include installing and maintaining scenery, rigging, and stage equipment, managing stage crew, fly rail, and carpentry repairs. Position also works with Stage Manager and Production Manager to run and maintain back-stage areas during technical rehearsals, performances, and events. Must have experience with single-purchase counterweight fly system. When not in the theater, the Stage Carpenter may provide additional scenic construction support. Additional experience in automated rigging control, deck automation, and hydraulics is desirable. Candidate must be comfortable working at heights and able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
