MASTER Stage Carpenter
Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks an experienced MASTER STAGE CARPENTER for our 6-production 2019 Mainstage Season. Approximate dates of employment: April – November, 2019.
Ideal Candidate: Must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast paced working environment. Successful candidates will have high-level carpentry skills, fast-paced problem-solving abilities, and demonstrate proficiency in the safe operation of power tools, scenic carpentry, theatrical rigging, and stage operations.
Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to):
-Work with Stage Manager and Production Manager to run and maintain back-stage areas during each show, including technical rehearsals, performances, and events
-Act as a liaison between management and run crew, relaying call times and ensuring team efficiency
-Maintain scenery, rigging, stage equipment, fly rail, and carpentry repairs
-Must have experience with single-purchase counterweight fly system
-Must be comfortable working at heights and able to lift and carry 50 pounds
-Provide additional scenic construction support as necessary
-Possess flexibility and positive backstage demeanor working with actors and other crew
-Run each performance (8 shows/week)
-Assist in rehearsals and load-in/strike as necessary
-Additional experience in automated rigging control, deck automation, and hydraulics is desirable
