Payroll & Accounting Clerk

The Ogunquit Playhouse is seeking a year-round and full-time Payroll and Accounting Clerk to join our Finance team. This position includes a comprehensive employee benefit package and a competitive pay rate.


• College degree required

• At least 1-year experience working in a busy finance department

• ADP Payroll experience strongly preferred

• Experience with time-gathering systems recommended

• Skilled with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

• Experience with QuickBooks preferred

• Strong attention to detail

• Proven customer service skills

• Excellent time and project management skills, with an ability to effectively multi-task

• Solid team player

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sensitivity

• Proficiency in Excel and Word required

• Effective communication skills essential

• Interest in musical theater and the arts a plus

Job Duties:

· Serve as the ADP/Payroll administrator

· Maintain and verify payroll information by collecting, calculating and entering data

· Update payroll records, to include exemptions, insurance coverage, savings, and other deductions

· Prepare annual financial reports, such as census reports for workers compensation, 403b, ACA

· Perform Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable duties and confirm documentation is complete and attached

· Prepare and post monthly journal entries and attach proper documentation

· Reconcile business systems and subsidiary ledgers with General Ledger, including QuickBooks, QuickBooks Point of Sales, and Tessitura Ticketing System, for accurate financial reporting

· Prepare General Ledger reconciliations

· Assist with the annual audit, as needed

· Administer the Corporate Card program and provide assistance to cardholders

· Make and verify bank deposits

· Update, monitor, and maintain monthly and annual financial and budgetary spreadsheets

· Other financial duties, as assigned
