“The same production, with the same quality would have cost twice as much on Broadway (and I might add that it could just as easily have been presented there.) Ogunquit Playhouse's A Chorus Line is Resoundingly Splendid! Everything about the performance spelled quality as well as theatrical professionalism…. All, and I repeat all of the cast were superb in their roles.” - Journal-Tribune May 22, 2009

“As an audience member watching a polished production, it's easy to forget how much work goes into it, especially a singing and dancing extravaganza. The performers make it look so easy that even those in the audience who can't dance will start to feel their toes tapping. Some may even think for a moment, "Maybe I can do that." It's all part of the magic … There is little doubt that Ogunquit's talented cast of dancers can execute all the dance moves demanded of them, especially after seeing them strut their stuff in the grand finale of "One." They are a singular sensation well worth checking out.”Portland Press Herald, May 23, 2009

Winner of nine Tony® Awards, this "One Singular Sensation" follows 17 would-be dancers in their quest to make the cut for a new Broadway Musical. The quintessential backstage musical, A Chorus Line, recreated on the Playhouse stage, complete with Broadway sets and costumes, offers an intimate look at the lives of gypsy dancers and their quest for a spot on the line. It's what they've worked for - with every drop of sweat, every hour of training, every day of their lives. It's the one opportunity to do what they've always dreamed of. One by one, they come forward to share their stories. They put themselves on the line to get a job on the line. And when they're done, so is the audition. And only eight will remain.

A CHORUS LINE contains strong language and is recommended for mature audiences.
