The Ogunquit Playhouse was once again proud to receive the former President and First Lady, George and Barbara Bush, for the Sunday, August 2nd matinee performance of Guys and Dolls starring television and film star Richard Kind, Tony® Award winner Christian Hoff, Broadway’s Liz Larsen and Glory Crampton. The show’s rave reviews attracted the couple back to the theatre, along with several family members and friends. Among their companions were their son, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, his wife and daughter and sportscaster Jim Nantz. Upon entering the theatre, the first family received a standing ovation from the enthusiastic audience.

After enjoying the show the cast was treated to a post-show visit on the stage from George and Barbara Bush and their entourage – complete with accolades from the former President, “Great show!,” he repeated to every cast member he shook hands with. Both he and Barbara graciously posed for pictures with the cast before departing for the day. The cast was thrilled to meet them and very grateful to have had the opportunity to perform for the former President and First Lady. President Bush exclaimed, “Great show!” as he thanked Executive Artistic Director Bradford Kenney for kind the hospitality shown to him and his family.
