"The Ogunquit Playhouse is celebrating its 75th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary Season in grand style with a sparkling production of La Cage aux Folles...the team at Ogunquit has excelled with its cast, direction, and costume design that truly dazzles...a terrific production."  -BroadwayWorld.com

LaCage aux Folles scores an impressive win at Ogunquit Playhouse and will undoubtedly continue to reign triumphant; convincing us that the pursuit of living happily ever after, should never just be an illusion for anyone. Four stars."
-Foster's Daily Democrat

"My advice would be to see (LaCage aux Folles) at least twice. Once for the plot and acting and once for all the awesome costumes and theatrics."

"Caulfield's Song on the Sand takes the entire audience with him, and Beaman's I Am What I Am literally steals the show... The dance numbers are spectacular... costumes are so wonderfully done that they make great dance numbers even better... If you want to see a show that will leave you feeling happier than when you entered the theatre, this is it.  Go see it now."

La Cage aux Folles has millions of fans. Jerry Herman's music and Harvey Fierstein's book add new dimensions to the story of two gay men living in St. Tropez who have their lives turned upside down when their son announces he is getting married. Their twenty years of domestic tranquility are shattered when Jean-Michel, the son, fathered during a one-night heterosexual fling, comes home with news that he is engaged to Anne. That’s the good news. The bad news is that her father is a right-wing politician and head of the Tradition, Family and Morality Party, whose sworn aim is to close the local drag clubs. When they try to conceal their lifestyle and their ownership of the transvestite night club downstairs, La Cage aux Folles, the real trouble begins.

Georges and his partner Albin, stage name Zaza, run the nightclub where the stars and the chorus line are mainly men in drag. When Georges receives a telegram that Jean-Michel's mother, Sybil, isn't coming and Anne's parents arrive, Albin flees to his room, emerging as a buxom forty-year-old woman purporting to be none other than Jean-Michel’s mother. They do their best to impersonate a straight married couple, but the encounter turns into a crazy and very funny comedy of errors, resulting in an alternately poignant and boisterous celebration of family values.
