Ogunquit Playhouse Theatre Guild
Mission Statement
The mission of the Ogunquit Playhouse Theatre Guild is to support activities which will benefit and promote the Playhouse, foster a broader appreciation of the performing arts in the community, develop the interest of children, increase their exposure to theatre and the arts, and preserve the heritage of the Ogunquit Playhouse.
This is a volunteer organization that all are welcome to join! The Guild members support the Playhouse, including the Children’s Theatre, in many ways through fundraising and volunteering their time, to benefit the live theatre experience for adults and children.
The recent fundraising efforts of the Guild have made possible:
• A state-of-the-art sound system and new stage lighting
• The Gazebo to provide an outdoor area for refreshments
• A new main stage curtain
• A van for transporting Playhouse casts and crew
• New linens and comforters for the Playhouse Lodge housing actors and musicians
• New carpeting for the front lobby and aisles
• Improvements to the Chloe Checkoway Pavilion used for rehearsals and the Playhouse
Children’s Theatre program
• Scholarships for local students pursuing studies in the performing arts
The Guild meets at the Dunaway Center the 2nd Monday of the month at 7 p.m.
The meeting dates in 2008 are March 10, April 14, May 12, June 9, July 14, August 11, September 8, October 14 (Tuesday), and December 8
