The Full Monty is based on the smash-hit British film of the same name and combines a heartfelt message of self-acceptance with boundless humor. Prompted by the need for quick cash and their wives’ response to watching male strippers at “Girl’s Night Out”, a down-on-their-luck group of unemployed steelworkers decide to stage a strip show of their own. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, but mostly you’ll stand and cheer as Emmy Award winning Sally Struthers stars in this hilarious musical comedy. Under the guidance of show-biz savvy accompanist, Jeanette, played by Struthers, they begin rehearsals and soon realize that they must confront their own very real fears and insecurities. Jerry Lukowski, the central character, who is driven by his love for his son, knows deep down that going “the full monty” is more about what’s on the inside than what’s on the outside.  “Is it only about people taking their clothes off?  Absolutely not!” says Brad Kenney, Executive Artistic Director.  “If we do it well, no one will be offended, and every one will be surprised.  But it’s the story underneath it that is important.”
