WAITRESS LOCAL AUDITIONS

Jenna’s daughter Lulu in our upcoming production of WAITRESS (May 9 – June 8)

Jenna is an expert pie maker working at a local diner and stuck in a loveless marriage. Her salvation comes in the arrival of a daughter, Lulu.

Character Description
Lulu is a sweet and carefree female presenting 4 to 5-year-old who appears in the production’s final scene. Candidates should be no taller than 4’2” and no older than age 6. This role will be shared by one or more children -- individuals, twins, or siblings.

In-Person Auditions
Saturday, April 6, 2024 / 11:00am – 4:00pm

No appointment necessary

Looking for children with an easy laugh who are personable and show a sense of fun. Children should be prepared to talk about a favorite book/movie/television character or a person in their life.

Children will be asked to act out the final scene of the show. Parents can be in the audition room to play Lulu’s mom.

Audition Material
Lulu looks off right and laughs, as if someone just told a joke, then turns to her mother (an adult standing left) and exclaims “Mama!” before running into their arms to be scooped up.

Video Auditions
If you cannot attend in person, you may submit a recorded audition.
1)     Find a quiet space with little or no background noise
2)    Make sure the primary light source is located behind the camera
3)    Slate: My name is First Name / Last Name. I am __years old. I live in ____. And I am __ foot ___ inches tall
4)    Tell a short story about a favorite book/movie/television character or person
5)    Scene: Same as in-person audition material above
6)    Name video file as 2024_childname_waitress_lulu
7)    Email to registration@ogunquitplayhouse.org
8)    Videos must be received no later than 5:00p, April 10
