General Theatre Policies

Some main stage productions may contain mature content, language, or themes that may not be appropriate for children. We encourage you to seek additional information on each show you consider attending with a child. The Ogunquit Playhouse wants each and every one who attends its live theatrical performances to enjoy themselves. Anyone causing a disruption and hindering the enjoyment of our other audience members will be removed from the theatre at the discretion of the management.

Running Times

Running times vary from show to show and will be published on individual show pages as information becomes available.

Seating Times & Late Arrivals

Seating generally begins 1/2 hour prior to every performance. Late patrons will be seated at the discretion of management at an appropriate break in the performance. The actors and your fellow patrons appreciate your cooperation. Seating assignments are not guaranteed after the start of the show.

Content Guidelines

There is no official rating system for theatre. Suggested Content Guidelines are posted on show pages, when available.

Air Conditioning

Our theatre is fully air conditioned for your comfort.


Free parking is available on Playhouse grounds. A parking attendant will direct you upon arrival. Please do not enter the designated parking area unless you are holding tickets for the performance. No exit guaranteed until the end of the performance. Only Members and Sponsors with a parking pass may park in the VIP area. Learn more here.


Concessions are sold at the Lobby Bar, the Patio Garden Bar, and at the Gazebo Garden Bar and are open 1 hour prior to curtain and during intermission. 


Fully accessible restrooms are located inside the lobby. Additional fully-equipped restrooms are located on the north side of the Playhouse.


Wheelchair spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis. Designated locations are all Orchestra level without any stairs. We will make every effort to assist and accommodate all patrons/guests. You may reserve wheelchair accessible seating by calling or stopping by our Box Office.

Assisted Listening Devices

Assisted listening devices are available in the lobby at no extra cost.

Personal Electronic Devices

All electronic devices, including cell phones, should be turned off during the performances. Patrons on call may leave their cell phone with their row and seat number with the House Manager, who will notify them if they receive a call.

Dress Code

Appropriate casual attire.

Bags & Backpacks

We kindly ask that you do not bring large bags or backpacks into the theatre. Please note all bags brought into the theatre are subject to inspection.

Eating, Smoking & Drinking

A variety of beverages, desserts and coffee are available in the lobby, Gazebo Garden Bar, and Patio Garden Bar. Patrons may bring drinks purchased at the Playhouse into the theatre provided they are served in our Ogunquit Playhouse souvenir cups. Smoking is not permitted.

Recording & Photographs

Recording and photographing, in any way, is strictly prohibited.

Gift Shop

Please stop by our Gift Shop in the Playhouse lobby before the show and during intermission!
